HP SCHOOLS PROJECT

The Centre has executed School IT Education Project for providing IT Education in Government Senior Secondary Schools during 2002-05 and during 2005-08 for the state of Himachal Pradesh.

• Objective : To provide IT education to students of class IX to XII to enable them to learn the latest technology and enhance their employability prospects.

   

• Scope of the Project :
  It included the following
  1. Procurement & Installation of New Computer Hardware and Software
  2. Maintenance of New and Existing Computer Hardware
  3. Providing IT Teachers and training of students as per requirement of syllabus.
  4. Providing Consumables
  5. Providing Internet facility

   

• Outlay :

  2002-05 :	Rs. 6 Crores
  2005-08 :	Rs. 20 Crores

  Number of Schools :	260 during 2002-05 588 during 2005-08
  Average No. of Teachers Provided per year :	280 during 2002-05 840 during 2005-08
  Average No. of Students Trained :	17000 during 2002-05 43000 during 2005-08
