MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

One of the major objectives of this Centre is to spread IT literacy in all Govt. and Public Sector undertakings. The Centre is ISO 9001:2000 certified since Feb 2002 for providing training services. The Centre imparts training on DOEACC O/A/B/C level courses. In addition, it also offers various short and long terms computer courses for all categories of students and professionals. Short-term courses are available for beginners, and professionals from other fields, who need only hands-on experience on computers. Long-term courses are available for students desirous of taking computers as a profession. Advanced courses are also available for computer professionals.

This Centre has trained 2028 students in 54 Long Term Courses and 2180 Participants in 154 Short Term courses. More than 500 engineering students attend various industry oriented short term training programmes (.Net, J2EE, C++, Networking etc. It is regional Centre for Punjab Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan for DOEACC CHM-O and CHM-A level hardware courses. In order to handle the expected increase in the number of candidates opting for appearing in CCC Exam, various activities which were being handled in the DOEACC Head Quarter were decentralized among different DOEACC Centres. All frontal activities like processing of applications for provisional number from schools/colleges, processing of examination forms, setting up examination Centres for every examination, allotment of roll numbers, conduct of examination are being performed by this Centre for our geographical territory which consists of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

DOEACC Society, Chandigarh Centre is carrying out various activities relating to Computer Education, Software Development, Consultancy, Total Information Technology Solutions and Turn Key Projects for Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Boards, Corporations, and Educational Institutions. Since inception, it has been successfully accomplishing its objectives to promote Information Technology and allied activities. It has done remarkable work by catering services to Govt. Departments and Public Sector Undertakings. It has been a constant endeavor of this Centre to develop excellence in various areas of Information Electronics & Communication Technology (IECT). This Centre is equipped with state of art IECT infrastructure.

In addition to training, the Centre is engaged in providing IT Enabled Services to various Government Departments, Boards, Corporations of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Administration. The Centre has been providing its services in the areas of generation of Electricity bills for Industrial / Commercial Supply / Domestic Supply / Agriculture consumers, Inventory Management and Stores Accounting of UHBVNL and DHBVNL. The Centre aims to disseminate knowledge on all aspects of Information Electronics & Communication Technology (IECT) to the utmost user satisfaction and has built up a formidable track record for the same. This Centre provides specialized services to different segments of clients based on requirements assessed from time to time.

ITES projects in education sector

• Pre-exam and post exam processing of Middle Class examination of about 14000 students every year for DPI Chandigarh since last six years.

• Pre-exam and post exam processing of annual examination of about 11000 students for NCPUL.

• Post Graduate Entrance Exam processing for PGIMER every year.
